Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is a Divine Person, equal and of the same nature to the father and son, and that He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; that He bears witness to the truth; that He is the agent of the new Birth; that He restrains the evil one; that He baptizes all true believers into the body of Christ, indwelling, sanctifying, sealing and securing them unto the day of redemption; that He endures, guides, teaches, and helps believers; and that it is the privilege and duty of all the saved to be filled with the Spirit, the evidences being love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance; not speaking in tongues.
- Eph 2:18 - For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
- Jhn 3:5-7 - Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
- Jhn 14:16-17, 21 - And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. ... He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
- Jhn 16:7-15 - Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
- Gal 5:22-23 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
- 1Pe 1:23 - Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
